Bounty's Bangers & Mash

Every year for the past ten years or so my family and I make a trip here for my birthday. Last year I asked everyone if they wanted to try a new place ( I didn't want anyone to think "again") and they all said no! We want the Old Ship! The staff is always friendly and fun and the food is amazing! I've never had a bad dish. The clam chowder is the best I've ever had. Bangers and mash, fish and chips, prime rib, Saturday's beef Wellington, lamb shank and the Yorkshire pudding is all delicious! I highly recommend saving room for the sticky toffee pudding, it's heaven! This restaurant is the best!! I really wish I was there right now!

Traditional Mushy Peas

I can't eat tomatoes! So, when I'm at The Olde Ship, one of my favorite mains is the leg of lamb. It falls off the bone. It's super tasty. It's super tender. The peas (sometimes the Mushy) and carrots are always perfect. The service is always great. It's been one of my favorite menu items for years and years, and I've never been let down. Just writing this, I'm already craving it for next time!

Banger & Mash

Came to enjoy some family time, and never expected the food to be as amazing as it was. We ordered scotch eggs, banger and mash, and finished our meal off with some delicious Sticky pudding. The food was, rich, mouthwatering and beyond my expectations, and on top of that, the atmosphere was super fun. The feel of an old English Pub, along with a thriving bar with live music makes this a restaurant you definitely will want to return to for more visits.

The Olde Ship's Fish & Chips

Flaky tender morsels of goodness surrounded by crispy fried yummyness on a plate garnished with chips and vinegar. What more can you ask for? I love this place!

Great British Breakfast

It was my first time ever trying something like that and honestly it made me want to learn how to make it for myself. It was really filling, hearty and great combination of different textures. The fried bread was exquisite and definitely worth going back for.

Basket of Chips

We order a basket of fries almost every time we visit. They're always cooked perfectly and are delicious with a little malted vinegar.

Paul Jones' Scottish Bridie

I usually get the Fish & Chips, however I broke with tradition and tried the Scottish Bridie. Best pastie this side of the pond. Rich and flavorful. The gravy that comes with it is wonderful. I always knock back my meal with a couple of pints of Black Thorne Cider, which you can't find hardly anywhere in the States. Comfort food at its fines.

Cottage Pie Beef or Vegetarian

The Vegetarian Cottage Pie is my favorite meal at the Olde Ship. Whenever I go to either the Santa Ana or Fullerton location, it is fabulous. It is sometimes hard to find a decent vegetarian meal at restaurants sometimes, but I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered this dish at the Olde Ship. I will continue to order it. By the way, the specialty afternoon teas at the Santa Ana Olde Ship are wonderful as well.

Fish Bites

The fish bites were good. I love going to Old Ship for a drink. It's one of the only places I've found with Old Speckled Hen on tap. The bartenders are awesome and so is the company.

The Olde Ship's Fish & Chips

I usually go to the Santa Ana location. I lived in Boston for many years and was able to get great fish dinners. But found it difficult in CA. So when my sister took me to Old Ship years ago when visiting I was skeptical. It did not disappoint! And now that I live here, the Old Ship is my go to. For a while, the last year or so, the fish dinner was not the same. The fish was soggy and the tartar sauce did not seem right. Even my 17 year old daughter who was an avid fan, no longer wanted to go. We had friends from Scotland visiting. I was hesitant to bring them since we had not been to the Old Ship for months because our experience changed. But I took the chance and we went. I was so pleasantly surprised that our fish was once again perfect. My friends from Scotland chose different items they were used to in the UK and said they were very good. I was told they had a new chef. Yay!! Because the fish at the Old Pub was always our favorite dish. Whatever brought this place back to the great fish dinners it had previously, thank you!! We can once again enjoy this great place and enjoy the great fish dinner and desserts!!

Bounty's Bangers & Mash

I absolutely love The Olde Ship! It is so warm and welcoming, and I feel like I'm in an authentic British Pub! We have been dining there for years, and we always bring out-of-town guests for delicious food, great drinks and friendly, fun service. I especially love the homemade pies, Bangers and Mash and the incredible Sticky Toffee Pudding! Thank you for so many wonderful and memorable dinners!

The bangers & mash were absolutely delicious. The bangers were juicy and flavorful, and the mash was creamy and felt like you were eating a cloud. I highly recommend this dish at The Olde Ship.
