This is the best Salisbury Steak I've ever had and the veggies are just as good. Top it off with a Guinness And it doesn't get much better than that!!!
Amazing atmosphere and delicious food! It's like a vacation with out leaving California. Stop in for a casual bite, come back with friends to watch a match!
Always enjoy the menu and try a different plate on every visit. I want to say that the Chicken Curry was excellent, very hard to find a decent curry here that reminds me of home. Cheers 🍻
Our all-American family adores this breakfast. Might sound like a strange combination but believe me Yankees, give it a try! This one is cooked to perfection, authentic, and really satisfying.
The Fisherman's Pie (Friday special) was the best thing I've eaten in months. Our family has been coming here for 25+ years
Lovely cottage pie, Been here three times and keep coming back!
Been to Fullerton location many times, first time to visit Santa Ana- loved it! Got the 1 piece battered fish and cole slaw and subbed in salad for the fries- delicious!! Thank you for great food and service!
Some years ago I lived in Fullerton, and one of my dearest joys was dropping by the Olde Ship for a pint of Guinness and some sticky toffee pudding. My roommate at the time had told me about the place, and about the sticky toffee pudding, and I had never been quite so happy about a dessert. I am in Stoke on Trent in the UK tonight and have just had a Guinness and some sticky toffee pudding, and it brought me right back to my home state of California, in the Olde Ship. If you haven't been by you really owe it to yourself.
Excellent quality and fantastic taste.
Delicious. Very fresh fish with a good crispy batter. Good size. Very flavorful, not overly greasy. Definitely would order again and would recommend to others.
My fiancee and I have enjoyed the Olde Ship's fare on many occasions and have never been disappointed. I never get the same thing twice even though everything I've ever had has been good enough to be my signature order. I loved the crust on the bridie. It was my preferred blend of flaky yet soft. It was a rich, hearty, and flavorful dish that I still think about sometimes. Their mashed potatoes are great too; thick and fluffy with the perfect texture. They've never been over mashed and watery or lumpy. My fiance almost always gets the Full English Breakfast and cleans his plate every time. We're also huge fans of the fish n Chips, scotch eggs, the chicken pot pie, steak n ale pie, and the sticky toffee pudding!! Once I requested a Crow's nest (fried bread smothered with red beans and a sunny side up egg) that wasn't on the menu and it was award worthy even in it's simplicity! The drinks and the service never disappoint either! Once we went and the place was packed and our server was completely inundated and service took longer than usual but you could see our waitress was working her tail off and she was so charming and perceptive that we didn't mind in the least. Overall, highly recommended spot. We'll keep coming back again and again!
The Vegetarian Cottage pie is delicious comfort food on a winter day even in SoCal. It merits having its own spot on the menu as perhaps Garden Pie. Cottage Pie is beef and Shepard's Pie is lamb then why not call Vegetable Pie, Garden Pie?
Love some sausage rolls before my Great British Breakfast! My Fiance likes to dip them in Coleman's mustard.
This is my absolute favorite!! While I love to taste everyone's food, I just can't go to The Old Ship without ordering this dish. The Guinness sauce is to die for!
Oh my goodness! This was amazing - the food, the atmosphere, and the service. So very pleased. I will be returning with my whole family time and again.
This is the real deal, folks. My mates and I love this very authentic traditional English Pub. Who would of thought you could find one in Santa Ana! All it's missing is the Ivy and the cobblestones. Visit the loo, and enjoy the wallpaper of varnished old magazine clippings of the Royals throughout the years. I real bit of history that. Warning, you may find yourself having a good long sit there. And did I mention the food? No? I did not, and there's a good reason, too. I saved the best for last. It's traditional authentic terrible English cuisine! The real deal, folks. Pub? Go on then.
Very tasteful hearty dish it will be very satisfying and transport your senses to a little village in the UK
The Scottish Bridie is comfort and joy wrapped in a buttery crisp pastry. Heaven every time...especially when washed down with a pint and finished with Sticky Toffee Pudding!!
One of my favorite dishes!
The clam chowder is everything you want it to be! Try it.
My favorite fish and chips hands down, doesn't get any better with a black and tan to go with it!
I try to get a different plate every visit. The Chicken Curry was excellent a real reminder of home. It's so hard to find a Curry that has that special flavor. Cheers 🍻
Nothing like a warm chicken pie and a cold Strongbow cider! Although the Guiness beef pie is delicious, and the Scotch eggs are a favourite too! Whether it's fish and chips, or the soup of the day, the Olde Ship always has great food, atmosphere, and drinks!
Everything is so good. Especially the bangers and mash with a nice cold Guinness
When they describe this incredible dining location as a British pub, they mean it! From the food to the appearance, this incredible dining experience epitomizes a classic British pub/restaurant.
The Best Fish and Chips Anywhere! (Here or across the pond) Only downside is that I can no longer order this anywhere but here, all others pale in comparison. Cooked to perfection each and every time. Golden brown, perfect texture, not oily, served with delicious steak fry style chips and crunchy cole slaw with shredded carrots. House made tartar and lemons too. Yum!!!!
All the Olde Ship's seafood items are delicious, but the Haddock and Chips is my absolute favorite. The Haddock is flaky and moist, the batter just the right level of crispness, and they serve 'proper' British style chips - not those poor excuse for chips, such as shoestring potatoes, waffle potatoes or any of the other abomination of 'french fries'. The chips are crisp on the outside and soft and pillowy in the middle. The coleslaw is crunchy, and not overwhelmed with mayo. The only downside is that the portion size of the Haddock is so generous , I rarely have room for my favorite dessert - Sticky Toffee Pud!
Love this authentic British restaurant. Always great service and super tasty food!
You have the best mashed potatoes ever. And the carrots are spectacular. But what isn't!!!
Loved the fish and chips and the whole vibe of the restaurant.
Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I always get a Cottage Pie to go. But tonight I also got a Golden Cap Steak & Ale Pie. Delicious! And the carrots & English peas are wonderful as well.
With a pint of Old Speckled Hen!
Every year for the past ten years or so my family and I make a trip here for my birthday. Last year I asked everyone if they wanted to try a new place ( I didn't want anyone to think "again") and they all said no! We want the Old Ship! The staff is always friendly and fun and the food is amazing! I've never had a bad dish. The clam chowder is the best I've ever had. Bangers and mash, fish and chips, prime rib, Saturday's beef Wellington, lamb shank and the Yorkshire pudding is all delicious! I highly recommend saving room for the sticky toffee pudding, it's heaven! This restaurant is the best!! I really wish I was there right now!
Had the Fish and chips and they were amazing. going to be coming back again very soon!
Best Yorkshire puds on this side of the Atlantic!
This is the one menu item I call ahead for to make sure they have some and to make sure they hold one for me! Perfect with a proper pint 🍺 of ESB.
Great dish and big enough to share.
We order a basket of fries almost every time we visit. They're always cooked perfectly and are delicious with a little malted vinegar.
